Knauf (Gypsum) are searching for a team member to join us as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at our Immingham Plant.
Within this role, the Lead Maintenance Technician will be working Monday - Friday 07:00am - 3:30pm.

What you'll be doing:
The Maintenance Technician within the Mechanical Team has a primary responsibility to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of process equipment. They will respond to process stoppages or abnormalities as required for diagnosis, isolations and to effect repairs. They will also undertake planned preventative maintenance and improvement activities
You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
You are also required to demonstrate appropriate levels of technical competence in assessing and mitigating risks and implementing relevant safeguards when undertaking any maintenance or intervention activity, working in a safe manner in accordance with relevant legislation, codes, procedures and accepted best practice, leading by example, and deploying a duty of care to oneself and others.
To execute efficient and effective reactive maintenance to process interruptions or abnormalities, and to engage with the shift operational team in any other requested capacity, in order to contribute to plant performance objectives.
To undertake planned preventative maintenance and improvement activities according to the work schedule.
To develop own process knowledge and technical expertise in designated manufacturing processes, contributing to standardisation, optimisation, improvement, and diagnostics initiatives such as, Root Cause Analysis, Condition Based Maintenance and Work Flow Planning.
To ensure that work is always undertaken to a high technical and professional standard, including where necessary supervising the work of others to ensure standards, quality and fulfilment.
To record all appropriate activity and observations in the SAP CMMS with sufficient technical detail to support later analyses.
Provide an active contribution to the activities and responsibilities of the engineering department, supporting and providing cover for colleagues where required.
Shift handovers via SAP to ensure safe & effective transition of work tasks & shift activities.
Perform effective LOTOTO (Lock Out, Test Out & Tag Out) procedures and issuing of appropriate permits to work.
What we'd love for you to have:
An NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance
Awareness of current workplace health and safety legislation.
Knowledge of machine safety systems.
Mechanical: general fitter skills, pneumatics, hydraulics, workshop machinery, welding
Experience working with automated plant and equipment.
Developed knowledge of manufacturing process plant, utilities and infrastructure throughout the factory.
Process competencies to develop technical expertise.
