Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Shift

What you'll be doing:
As a Shift Electrician at Knauf, you will apply your electrical expertise to optimize plant availability through efficient preventative maintenance and swift responses to breakdowns. You will assist the manufacturing team by addressing breakdowns, resolving quality issues, implementing technical improvements, and supporting the daily operations of the production plant.
Key duties:
- Follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others, as well as implement H&S standards & environmental policy
- Provide breakdown assistance as and when required.
- Monitor machine failures and make changes or recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and carry out preventative maintenance schedules.
- Prepare work for maintenance periods, including sourcing parts and equipment.
- Identify ways in which the process can be improved by additions and modifications and playing a key part in implementing any resultant changes.
- After appropriate training keep accurate records of work carried out on SAP.
- When arriving and leaving shift to give or receive a full and detailed handover, as well as attend daily maintenance meeting when appropriate.
- Operate clean-as-you-go standards
- Actively participate and give input to several team and individual projects, including, Staff Council and Health & Safety.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Previous experience working as an Electrician within motor maintenance, fault finding, PPM maintenance, panel maintenance, etc.
- Knowledge of electrical power and control
- Knowledge of PLC control systems.
- Knowledge of production, engineering or process controls including manufacturing techniques & standards.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work and procedures and an excellent regard for health and safety.
Desirable:
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or NVQ Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship
- Siemens S7/S5 diagnostic experience
- BS7671 IEE 18th Edition
- Experience with CMMS systems (Ideally SAP)
- Understanding of six sigma methodology.
